In a top 30 chart of the best Psybient albums\nof all time compiled by Rate Your Music\, CBL were rated at # 1\, 2\, 5\, 16 and 26\nalongside such great artists as Sphongle\, Solar Fields\, Ott\, AES Dana and others.\nCBL aim to combine earth and space in their music\, using the combination of\nnature and technology as the main inspiration for their work.\nThey have played all over Europe and the US including many festival\nappearances such as Symbiosis (US)\, Anthropos (UK) and Ozora (Hungry) and in\nApril 2025 played an incredible sold out show at London Earth Theatre.\nCBL are currently working on material for their next album and will be trying\nout some new ideas in their live shows. If they are half as good as the small\nsneak preview we heard in April then this is very much something to look\nforward to.

When I woke up\, I had a text from him\, asking if we\nfancied more collabs\, so he’s on the record\, amongst other friends.\nRecording the album and playing recent gigs have been comfortable\, happy and therapeutic experiences\, largely due to Michael\nRendall\, who’s a genius that picks up anything he turns his hand to. Newly titled ‘The Oort Cloud (Too Night)’\nand aided by cult Manchester disc jockey Dr D\, they embark on a classic NYC deepside journey\, for a moment of dancefloor ecstasy.\nJoined by cohort Andy Falconer whom Alex calls “an ambient god”\, the pair go so many fathoms deep that they aren’t merely out of\ntheir pit\, but ‘Under The Bed’\, which displays of the awe of the cosmos like a planetarium from heaven. Named after the sister planet\nof Pluto\, the delightful ‘Khàron’ conjures a universe alive with light and celestial beings\, largely aided by Rober Eno’s stunningly\nsparing piano.
